CSI Women Missionaries & Leaders Conference – 2016

The Department of Mission and Evangelism & CSI Women's Fellowship Jointly Organized CSI Women Missionaries & Leaders Conference from 2nd to 4th August 2016  at CSI Synod Centre, Chennai.  150 women Missionaries and Leaders from all the CSI Dioceses participated in this Conference.  The theme of the conference was “Makers & Movers in Mission”.

The conference was inaugurated by the Rev. Dr. Ramani Dyvasirvadam, President CSI Women's Fellowship which is presided by Rt. RevRevA. Dharmaraj Rasalam, Chairman, CSI Mission & Evangelism. Rev. Christopher Vijayan, DirectorMission and Evangelism CSI Synod welcomed all the participants and introduced the leaders.   The Rev. Dr. D. Rathnakara Sadananda, General Secretary Church of South India delivered key note address on the theme “Makers and Movers in Mission”. Rt. Rev. J. George Stephen, Bishop, Madras Diocese, Mrs.  Yamuna George Stephen, President, Women's Fellowship, Madras Diocese, Miss. Synthia Sobha Rani, General Secretary, CSI Women's Fellowship, and Adv. C. Robert Bruce, Treasurer, CSI Synod shared their greetings.

Rev. Eben Jason, Vice President, CSI Women's Fellowship, Mrs. Shirley Rasalam, President, W.F. South Kerala Diocese, Rev. Dr. Ramani Dyvasirvadam, President, W. F. CSI Synod & KGD, Rev. Hannah Niranjan  President, W. F. Karnataka Northern Diocese, Rev. Asir Ebenezer, Director, CSI SEVA, SrJessina, CSI Madhya Kerala Diocese, Miss. Synthia Shobha Rani, Rev. J. Solomon Paul, Director, Youth Concerns, CSI Synod, Rev. Sunil Raj Philip, Director, Communications, CSI Synod, Rev. S. Christopher Vijayan, Rev. K. James Cecil Victor, Director , Pastoral Concerns, CSI Synod, Mrs. Vasanthi Saduri, Treasurer, CSI W. F., Rev, Indira Paul, Presbyter, Madras Diocese, Rev. Deborah, Presbyter, Madras Diocese were the resource persons in this women conference. Most of the sessions were held as regional sessions.

On the second day all the participants were taken to see the St. George's Cathedral and other places related to the life and work of St. Thomas. This experience program was hosted by the Women Fellowship Madras Diocese. Mrs. Florence, Associate Director, Women fellowship Madras Diocese organized this experience program in a meaningful way.

On the third day Holy Communication service led by the Rt. Rev. Dr. E. Pushpalalitha, Bishop in Nandyal Diocese and shared the God's word. The women presbyters in Madras Diocese led the worship. The closing session started at 12.00 P.M which was preside by Rev. S. Christopher Vijayan. The prayers offered by Rev. Hannah Niranjan, President, Women fellowship, Karnataka Northern Diocese. Rt. Rev. Dr. E. Pushpalalitha, Bishop in Nandyal Diocese encouraged the women missionaries to take leadership in mission to expand Gods Kingdom in this world. Rev. Dr. D. Rathnakara Sadananda, General Secretary, CSI delivered closing address. Mrs. Florence, Associate Director of Women's fellowship Madras Diocese shared greetings and distributed gifts on behalf of the Diocesan women fellowship. Miss. Synthia Sobha Rani, General Secretary, CSI Women's Fellowship pronounced vote of thanks. The conference ended with the Prayer by Rev. Dr. D. Ratnakara Sadananda and Benediction by Rt. Rev. Dr. E. Pushpalalitha.

This women conference was one of the encouraging events for all the women missionaries who work in the remote parts of the country. This conference had regional gatherings to discuss various subjects like Biblical Images for Women Leadership, The Status of Women in the Church & Society, Empowering Women Leadership in Mission, and Issues and Challenges Faced by Women Missionaries. The women missionaries assured their support to recruit more women missionaries to bring good changes in the society through sharing the love of Christ.
