Bishop Heber College Makes the Church of South India Proud

The CSI is indeed honoured that Bishop Heber College of the CSI Trichy-Tanjore Diocese is placed 3rd by the National Institution Ranking Framework, MHRD, Govt. of India from among 1500 colleges from all over India. In 2017 it had been placed 4th.

Most Rev. Thomas K. Oommen; the Moderator of the Church of South India, Rt. Rev. V. Prasada Rao; the Deputy Moderator, Rev. Dr. Daniel Rathnakara Sadananda; the General Secretary, and Adv. Robert Bruce; the Treasurer congratulated the Diocese under the leadership of the Bishop and in particular Prof. Dr. Paul Dayabharan; the Principal, teachers and students of Bishop Heber college for this highly remarkable achievement.

They said that this ranking of the College has made the CSI proud and it is the testimony to the work of the Church in the field of education. They remembered with grateful hearts, the pioneering work carried out by the missionaries in the field of education and expressed the hope that such standards continue to be maintained so as to enable the Church to be a powerful witness and reach out to the marginalized in the society.

Congratulations also to Scott Christian College of CSI Kanyakumari Diocese which is placed 37th and Bishop Moore College of CSI Madhya Kerala Diocese which is placed 92nd in the National Institution Ranking Framework.

The Synod Officers also commend the laudable and consistent medical educational standards being maintained by Christian Medical College which is ranked 3rd among Medical Colleges in the country. Madras Christian College is ranked 10th while Women’s Christian College is ranked 22nd.
