Two Youngsters from CSI Madurai-Ramnad Diocese, Mr. Andro and Mr. Ebenezer have began and finished their DARE to DREAM assignment from 6th to 30th of April 2018. They were placed under various mission fields of CSI Karimnagar Diocese for a time of volunteering and learning. They took this bold step in leaving their comfort zones treading to an unknown place to live with an unknown people and to experience the realities of life around them in a different context. The opined that their stay and exposure in these mission fields have deepened their commitment in defining discipleship and paving way for a radical engagement amidst missional congregations

During the 25 days of exposure they were given an opportunity to visit various mission fields like PARKAL Mission, BANJARA Mission, and many other places like Panigiri, Anthergaon, Karimnagar and Warangal. Thy engaged themselves with the children and the youth visiting the elderly, praying for the sick, and taking part in the festivals and celebrations of the local communities.

The stories of the people and their difficult life situations have challenged their perceptions about mission and inspired them to relook at the context of the people more clearly. Though language was a barrier Mr. Andro and Mr. Ebenezer felt that they were able to understand and also were understood during these 25 days.

Going back to their own dioceses they say that CSI Karimnagar Diocese and its people will always bring them sweet memories of experiencing God’s hospitality and love beyond borders and identities.  They feel that this exposure has deepened their faith commitment and will certainly enable them towards doing mission meaningfully.

The Synod Youth Department through this initiative DARES the youth of CSI to DREAM a just and inclusive church in nurturing the ethos of radical discipleship and engagement in building Christ communities.

The Youth Department of CSI, whole heartedly thanks the Bishop of CSI Madurai-Ramnad Diocese, Rt. Rev. Dr. M. Joseph for encouraging their young people to be a part of this exposure. The Synod youth department is grateful to the Bishop in CSI Karimnagar Diocese, Rt. Rev. Dr. Reuben Mark and the people of the Diocese for their hospitality, care and exposure given to these youngsters in shaping their spirituality in a more meaningful way.
