EMS Bible Workshop Team Exposure to Karnataka Theological College, Mangalore

The Evangelical Mission in Solidarity (EMS) Bible Workshop team had visited Karnataka Theological College (KTC), Balmatta, Mangalore, from 6th to 8th October 2018. The team had consisted of seven theologians coming from 6 countries across the globe. They were warmly received by the Principal of KTC Rev. Dr. Hannibal Richard Cabral. The team was comfortably accommodated at Sahodaya, KTC, Mangalore.

On Monday 8th October 2018, the ems team took part in the KTC chapel service, where Rev. Dr. Bernhard Dinkelaker shared greetings and the whole team was felicitated. An interactive session with KTC students was organized followed by an interactive session with the KTC Principal and faculty. The theme of “Reading the Bible with Eyes of the Other” was discussed exploring into the contextual reading of the scriptures. The discussions were meaningful, drawing attention to include folklore traditions in the reading of the scriptures.

KTC Principal had arranged an exposure visit to “Hebich Industrial Training Institute,” Balmatta, Mangalore. The Principal of the Institute, Mr. Chetan R., received the team warmly and explained the work. The team highly appreciated for the creative work of the institute. Later, the team visited the printing press of KTC. Rev. Sagar, KTC faculty, was helpful in guiding all the tour.

The team humbly acknowledged warm hospitality extended by the Principal Rev. Dr. Hannibal Richard Cabral and staff, student community.
