A team of seven persons, coming from six countries, had visited the Karnataka Southern Diocese, Mangalore, from 6th to 8th Oct’ 2018. This team was from Evangelical Mission in Solidarity (EMS) Bible Workshop. The team visited Bishop, the Rt. Rev. Mohan Manoraj, Bishop, Karnataka Southern Diocese, on 6th Oct’ 2018 noontime. The Bishop had warmly received the team and arranged a formal meeting with the Diocesan Officers. Bishop Emeritus C. L. Furtado was also present in the meeting and on behalf of the Karnataka Southern Diocese he welcomed the EMS team. There was a time of interactions to strengthen the partnership. The EMS group was felicitated, which was followed by a fellowship lunch. At evening a tour to visit Nisarga, a beach house of the Diocese, was organised. It was a rainy day yet, the experience of visiting Nisarga was meaningful.

On Sunday 7th Oct’ 2018 the team took part in the CSI Shanthi Cathedral Harvest Festival Service, Mangalore, where Rev. Dr. Bernhard Dinkelaker shared greetings. On the same day afternoon, the team visited Asha Nilaya, Special Home, Udupi; CSI Boys’ Boarding Home, Udupi; and CSI Girls’ Boarding Home, Mulki. All the three wardens of the respective homes Mrs. Prasanni Soans, Mrs. Clarible Ambler and Rev. Shashikala Anchan had received the team warmly, explained the work among the children, and they had shown the infrastructure explaining day to day activities of the inmates of the homes.

There was a good time of cultural interactions between the ems team with the children of three homes and formal interactions with the respective wardens and staff of the homes. The hospitality extended by the homes is acknowledged by the team; great amount of work put-up by the wardens and staff in smooth functioning, the constructive growth of each home was highly appreciated. Words of greetings, exhortation, and prayers were offered by the team. Thanks to Bishop Mohan Manoraj, Officers of the Diocese, Rev. Dr. Hannibal Richard Cabral, Rev. Dr. D. R. Sadananda, General Secretary of CSI, for making the exposure to the Diocese, Children Homes in particular, very meaningful. Thanks to Rev. Ebenezer Jathanna for accompanying the team and doing the translation for the team.
