The second Kerala Regional Synod of the Church of South India (CSI) was held at Melukavumattom HRDTC on 28th November 2018. The synod was presided over by the Rt. Rev. Dr. K. G. Daniel (Chairman, Kerala Bishop’s Council) and the Synod was inaugurated by The Most Rev. Thomas K. Oommen; the Moderator of CSI.
In the inaugural speech, Most Rev Thomas K Oommen reiterated that CSI is a church derived from different backgrounds, and this diversity is the hallmark of this church. He also added that church shouldn’t be judgemental and that we should stick on to the values and act in the various social issues.
In the presidential address, Rt. Rev. Dr. K. G. Daniel emphasized that church should always be an inner sense for tolerance and also that it stand for truth at any cost. Rt. Rev. Baker Ninan Fenn (Bishop in CSI Cochin Diocese); Rt. Rev. Dr. Royce Manoj (Bishop in CSI Malabar Diocese); Rt. Rev. Dr. Oommen George (Bishop in CSI Kollam-Kottarakara Diocese) and other synod representatives attended the Regional Synod Meeting.
