Child Vinothini hails from a village named Neduvasal which is about 2 hours travel from Nagapattinam. The father of Child Mr. Elancheliyan was working as an agricultural coolie and mother Mrs. Vimala was looking after the household affairs. Child Vinothini also had 3 sisters and a brother and thus formed part of a large family. The parents were unable to meet the basic needs of the Children including their daily food requirements with the single unstable income which was also mostly seasonal. Under such situation, the child was referred by the Presbyter of the local church to the CSI Home for Girls, Nagapattinam in 2009. After making the regular house visits by the childcare worker of the project, the child was identified to be supported by the KNH fostership program in 2009 when she was doing her 6th standard.
The child was admitted in CSI Higher Secondary School, Nagapattinam for her schooling. She was loved by all staffs and children in the school and project for her loving and caring behaviour towards others. She formed part of the all the project activities. Her contribution to the project through her participation in the Children’s Parliament and in organising and executing the project activities is still being cherished by the childcare workers. With her hard work, she completed her 10th standard in 2014 with a 2nd class. She then continued her higher secondary education and completed her 12th standard in 2016. As per her wish, she was enrolled her for Diploma course in Health Care Assistant in Meghalai Institute of Health Care Sciences in Paraiyar and successfully completed her education in 2018. She was immediately recruited to work with a private hospital by name Sri Vidhya Hospital in Mayiladuthurai and earns a good income to support her family.
The Child remembers with gratitude, the financial support rendered by KNH/CSIBCC enabling her to complete her studies successfully, guiding her in her fullest development and in becoming a contributing member to her family and community.
