Grand opening of Women DARE retail outlet in Motebennur, North Karnataka

CSI SEVA in association with CSI Karnataka Northern Diocese inaugurated its fifth retail outlet in the premises of CSI Shanthi Church in Motebennur town on 25th April 2019. It was a grand and combined occasion of the warming ceremony of “Women Retreat Center”. The Rt. Rev. Ravikumar J. Niranjan, Bishop, CSI Karnataka Northern Diocese inaugurated the store in the presence of the Diocesan officials, large representation from Women’s fellowship and Asha Kiran Self-Help Group members. Various kind of products of Asha Kiran groups and the products from other dioceses were on display and it was an ‘exhibition cum sale’.  Bishop Amma and the President of the Women Fellowship, Rev.Mrs.Hanna R Niranjan received the first sale from the Bishop.  

 

Speaking on the occasion, Isaac Jebaseelan of CSI SEVA said that, the opening of the Women DARE outlet in Motebennur is another step in CSI SEVA's journey towards affirming local economy spearheaded by Dalit and Adivasi rural women. Women DARE builds a market for the produce of women’s collectives that were trained and promoted by the Church of South India, in an effort to challenge the market of the Global Empire.
